AMI Letter

Dear Parents,

The Gosnell School District Leadership Team has analyzed various options for Alternate
Methods of Instruction (AMI) during the required school closures due to COVID-19. With
much consideration, the team has decided on the following plan for AMI:

Grades K-6
Beginning April 6th, students in grades K-6 will utilize the Public Broadcasting Service (PBS)
Instructional materials developed by the Division of Elementary and Secondary Education.
Arkansas PBS will alter its regular television programming to provide age-appropriate
educational content for three specific grade bands (PK-2, 3-5, 6-8).

How to Watch
Tune in to Arkansas PBS to watch Arkansas Alternative Methods of Instruction (AMI) over the air or through your cable or satellite provider. You can find out how to watch at:

Daytime Broadcast: Monday-Friday
Grades K-2: 8:00-9:30
Grades 3-5: 9:30-11:00
Grade 6: 11:00-1:00

If you miss the broadcast, the AMI instructional content and shows will be available online after 4:00pm of the same day of the broadcast. Here is the link to the website:

Your teacher will communicate with you about the weekly assignments and options to submit the assignments through your preferred method. Some options include text, email, Class Dojo, Remind App or Google Classroom.

Arkansas PBS also has a free app that can be downloaded on your smartphone to watch the broadcasts live or at any time. Download Engage AR PBS for more information.

If you have any questions regarding the K-6 AMI instructions, packets or need additional resources, please contact Tiffany Kennemore at tkennemore@gosnellschool.net or 870-532-4003 or your child’s homeroom teacher.

Grades: 7-12
Students in grades 7-12 will utilize Google Classroom to access lessons created by various
teachers. The lessons will consist of instructional resources to continue educational
opportunities. Teachers will be available through Google Classroom to assist students with any questions they may have regarding AMI lessons, materials, outcomes, etc.
