Dear Parents, Welcome to another great school year at Gosnell Elementary! We are working on improving our drop off and pick up procedures for car riders. We need your help with the following guidelines/instructions:
MORNINGS:
Drop off will start at 7:30 am, please do not arrive before 7:15 am.
Parents have your child get their backpacks, lunch box, etc. ready to go while waiting in line.
Say your goodbyes, I love yous, etc. while waiting in line.
Students be ready to exit the car as soon as the car stops in the drop off area.
Exit the car quickly and walk on the sidewalk.
AFTERNOONS:
Pick up will start at 3:00 pm, please do not arrive before 2:30 pm.
Parents keep your car tags hanging or visible to all duty teachers until your child is in the car. All duty teachers are working together to get students in the correct vehicle.
Move up in line when the cars are moving forward. Move up as much as possible so we can get more students in their cars. We will bring your child to you if they are standing at the wrong numbered cone.
Students look for your car in line. Wait until the cars stop moving before getting in. Let the duty teacher know if you see your car so we can get you in the correct position.
Get in the car quickly with all your belongings. Do not get items out of your backpack while standing in line.

Tomorrow night there is a home Jamboree Football game. Elementary students must be accompanied by an adult/parent/guardian, not an older sibling or friend. There will be an administrator at the gate monitoring all students as they enter the game. Elementary students must be with an adult at all times. Tickets are $5 per person, adult or student.

Starting August 26, 2024, Parents/Legal Guardians may eat lunch with their child. Picture ID is required to get a visitors pass on campus. The afternoon car line is getting better, thank you for all your help. If you need car tags, come to the elementary office.

Gosnell Elementary is enrolling new students to the district Monday - Friday from 9:00-2:00 daily. If you live in the Gosnell School District please remember to bring 2 copies of utility bills , birth certificate, shot record, social security card, physical for Kindergarten students, and a parent or guardian ID. If you were accepted for school choice, please bring a copy of acceptance letter, physical for Kindergarten students, shot record, birth certificate, social security card, and parent of guardian ID. Gosnell School District is seeking feedback regarding the district requesting a waiver for an early start date for the 2024-25 school year (August 12). By starting on this date, this will give the district more instructional time prior to testing and allow for built-in inclement weather days.

Gosnell School District will be closed Monday, January 15th, for Martin Luther King, Jr Day.
School districts are no longer allowed to have AMI days. Any snow/inclement weather days that occur must be made up on the built-in snow days in this year's school calendar. A link to the calendar is provided below.

GES hopes that everyone had a wonderful and blessed Thanksgiving break. We wanted to remind you that this week is the Can Food Drive. Popcorn parties will be given to one class per grade that brings the most items. A Glow Party will be given to the overall class winner.
Also, Mom Prom tickets are on sale now. Mom Prom is December 14th from 6:00 - 7:30.
Due to extreme temperatures this week, the High School and Junior High Football games will have different starting times.
*Thursday, August 24th, the Junior High team will begin at 8:00pm at Brookland.
*Friday, August 25th, the High School team will begin at 7:30pm at Piggott.
