The Girls Basketball Games Tonight at Piggott have been cancelled. 7th, Jr High, and High School Games are all cancelled and will try to be rescheduled at a later date.
Students, Parents, and Fans:
Monday, November 23, 2020, we will have our basketball home opener. It is a Boys contest between your Gosnell Pirates and the Pocahontas Redskins. It is a 5:00 start for the Junior Boys game and a Senior High JV game will follow.
The following are some items of interest:
- Please be respectful of any and ALL rules while attending both home and away games.
- A voucher all games to enter both home and away. These may be obtained through a ball player or a basketball coach. ALL AAA passes will be honored. NO SCHOOL passes will be used for entrance. We will have a very limited number of people so most of the vouchers will be dispersed to players. We would love to have the gym packed out and rocking but unfortunately that isn’t an option currently.
- If you can’t obtain a voucher or make it to the HOME games, they will be live streamed from the school’s YouTube account (Gosnell School District)
-Entrance is still in through the glass doors
-Exit will be the glass doors closest to the men’s restroom to prevent crowding.
-Please respect All social distancing and seating guidelines. We have placed a combination of tape and caution tape in places that you CANNOT sit! (There will be a follow up post with pictures of the layout)
-Masks must be worn at all times
-Fan behavior is now a policy from the AAA. An ejection from a game will result in loss of attendance at the next “like” or comparable game.
Our hope is that we allow our student athletes to play and enjoy this season but we need everyone’s help!!
Reminder: NO QUARANTINED STUDENTS ARE ALLOWED ON CAMPUS! THIS INCLUDES FOR PICTURE RETAKES. We are sorry about the inconvenience this might cause but we are following ADH guidelines
TOMORROW (Tuesday, November 10) is makeup picture day for all students who missed the first picture day or want a re-take.
It is also picture day for all virtual students.
K-6 virtual students will need to report to the upper library from 8:00-9:00 a.m. for their pictures. It is the building located by Special Services.
Virtual students in grades 7-12 will need to report to the high school auditorium from 8:00-9:00 a.m. using the outside entrance by the teacher parking lot.
Virtual students who do not attend will not have a school picture included in this year's yearbook.
Homecoming Caravan is cancelled due to weather. Plan is to still have court on the field at 6:30 weather permitting. If weather is not cooperating we will have the presentation of the court in the gym at 6:30.

If you pre-purchased a season ticket for tonight’s football, you will need to show your voucher to the people taking tickets at the gate by the gym. They will let you through and your ticket(s) can be picked up at the table set up to the left after you exit the breezeway. You will need to keep the laminated pass with your name on it to get into future home football games for the 2020 season
Update on games and important information concerning football games: 1) Tomorrow nights JR High game at Valley View is at 5:00 instead of 7:00 due to the weather. Each player should have received 4 vouchers. These vouchers are NOT tickets to the game but are necessary to be able to buy a ticket at the game. If anyone needs a voucher, you can come by the High School office tomorrow and you can get 2. They will be on a first come, first serve basis.
Sr High game at Brookland on Friday night. Game time is still set for 7:00. Each Sr player will get 3 vouchers and each 10th and 11th grade player will get 2 vouchers. This also is NOT a ticket but the opportunity to buy a ticket at the game. We have some of these in the High School office as well and will pass these out on a first come, first serve basis. Each person will be limited to 2 vouchers and we will NOT hold these.

Reminder that we are offering free physicals to students grades 7-12 for all athletes. The times are scheduled so contact your coach for your time slot. You have to have the pre-physical forms filled out and will turn them in during the physical. Blank forms are out in front of the high school. If you don’t get this physical then you must get one on your own. You CANNOT compete without an up to date physical
For the students who didn’t attend Open House, we are still taking forms and trying to pass out chrome books before school starts. So please if you are able come up to the school from 9-2, get the forms filled out (either on paper or electronically), and let us get your chrome book to your students. If you plan on filling the forms out electronically contact either the Jr High or Sr high office and they can help you out! Help us out as we try to get as much of this stuff taken care of before school starts next week!!!

Gosnell SD: Open House is tonight at 5:30 in the Junior High for 7th grade students with 1 parent and any new student to the Junior High with one parent. Open House at the High School is at 6:00 for all 9th graders and a parent and any new student to the High School with 1 parent. We will hand out schedules and fill out ALL school forms as well as get chromebooks. High school will meet in the auditorium at 6. We will send out a message tonight concerning ALL other students and when they can get their forms, chromebooks, and schedules.

Reminders for people, family, friends, staff, and anyone else attending graduation today: you must have a mask if you are 10 years of age or older, it is going to be hot so hydrate and dress appropriately, we will have hand sanitizing stations, maintain or try to maintain social distancing at all times except in or with families, and after the ceremony don’t congregate and leave in a timely and orderly fashion!
Graduation is set for July 11, 2020 at 10:00 a.m. on the football field!
